East Tennessee Mechanical Contractors, Inc. has a history of participation with several labor organizations and local businesses and contractors to provide a labor pool of skilled personnel to support ongoing and future projects. ETMC and the Black Business Contractors Association of Knoxville have organized and participated in a joint training initiative. Training activities are competency based and safety focused. Graduates of these programs learn pre-apprentice skills in various construction trades.
Students receive training in several construction skills (i.e., framing, blueprint reading, tile work, metal bending, vinyl siding, window and door hanging, deck building, plumbing, hand and power tools, CPR/industry safety, roofing, and truss construction).
